Morgan, Norman F.

Norman F. Morgan, 74, of Stonington, beloved husband of 50 years to Natalie (Copp) Morgan passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at home. Born in Webster, Mass., he was the son of the late Capt. George Morgan and Florence Mullins and lived in Stonington for 38 years. He was a machinist with Davis-Standard Corp. in Pawcatuck, retiring in 1999 after many years of service. Following his retirement, Norman continued working out of his home as a self-employed machinist. He served with the USMC for two years honorably discharged in 1956. Norman was an avid woodworker who especially enjoyed making dollhouses. He also was a NASCAR fan, loved playing golf and enjoyed reading. Most of all, Norman will be remembered for spending time with his five beloved grandchildren. Besides his wife, Natalie, he leaves two children, Peter Morgan of Westerly and Nancy Anderson and her husband, Jerome, of Pawcatuck; two brothers, George Morgan and his wife, Laurie, of Littleton, N.H., and Michele Morgan and his wife, Marilyn, of Cape Coral, Fla.; a sister, Camille Morgan of Cape Cod, Mass.; and five grandchildren, Bethany, Kayla, and Justin Laing, all of Pawcatuck, and Christina and Paulina Morgan of Westerly. He was predeceased by a brother, Warren Viau. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 10 a.m. at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic, followed by a service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
